Episode 95: Calloway County attorney Jeff Roberts handles personal injury, workers’ compensation and social security disability cases. He’s practiced law for over 32 years. Today, we’re going to discuss a number of interesting developments in 2024.
The Kentucky Super Lawyers List
In 2024, Jeff was included in the Super Lawyers list for personal injury attorneys, which is a very important recognition. The designation is based in part by on the recommendations of attorneys across the state of Kentucky. They nominate attorneys whom they view as being leaders in specific areas of the law. Fewer than 5% of the attorneys in the state make this list, in a particular year.
Jeff notes that this list often includes attorneys from major metropolitan areas. Given that he’s located in Calloway County (with a second office in Christian County), it’s quite an honor for him to have been included.
The distinction is not solely based on having the largest verdict, rather, it’s a combination of factors including case results, how the attorney contributes his/her time and knowledge to improving the overall practice of law, and many more.

Jeff Roberts Elected President of the Kentucky Justice Association
Jeff has been extremely active in the Kentucky Justice Association (KJA) for since 1993. He’s held a number of leadership roles in the organization. KJA is the largest, voluntary lawyer association, in Kentucky. Membership in the Kentucky Bar Association is mandatory for attorneys who are licensed practice in Kentucky. However, KJA is a voluntary membership organization.
The Kentucky Justice Association focused on protecting an individual’s 7th Amendment right to a trial by jury. KJA also sponsors significant training for in trial skills and other important aspects of effectively representing clients. It’s primarily an organization of plaintiff attorneys who represent clients who have been harmed by the negligence of another person, company or organization. Jeff’s been a member of over 30 years.
Jeff considers the training seminars put on by the Kentucky Justice Association to be the premier educational seminars for plaintiff attorneys. He credits much of his success in the courtroom to the KJA seminars he’s attended over the years.
In December of 2024, Jeff was elected by his peers and sworn in as the President of the Kentucky Justice Association for 2025. He comments that he considers this to be one of the highest, if not the highest, achievements in his professional career.
Jeff highlights the willingness of the members to share their knowledge with other attorneys. It’s a true benefit that Jeff received as a young attorney and throughout the years. He’s always happy to assist other attorneys who approach him for advice and guidance. The organization has approximately 1,000 members across Kentucky. Jeff strongly recommends that younger attorneys join and become active in the Kentucky Justice Association. It’s one of the best decisions he/she will make for the benefit of their careers and clients.

Looking Back at 2024
Jeff took some time to review how his cases went in 2024 and the results he achieved for his clients. Again, Jeff handles personal injury (including auto accidents, motorcycle wrecks and trucking collisions), workers’ compensation claims and social security disability.
In 2024, looking at his personal injury cases, Jeff recovered into the millions of dollars for his clients. He prefers not to divulge any particular amount, because he feels that should be left up to a client, if they want to publicize it. He would feel uncomfortable doing so, for a variety of reasons.
Jeff is also happy to note that he recovered millions for his workers’ compensation clients, in 2024. Some of these clients suffered workplace injuries resulting in total disability. Others had significant injuries and now will be taken care of well into their futures. Jeff comments being able to walk with someone during some of the most difficult times of his/her life, and then winning a case that has such an impact makes him feels as if he has the best job in the world.
Jeff understands the work he does not only benefits that injured individual, but also the other family members who are also trying to deal with the effects of the injuries on their family.
It’s interesting to note that Jeff is a solo attorney. He’s the only attorney in his firm. He credits part of the success he’s had to the hard work his staff does as well. Everyone is focused on doing everything they can to help their clients. It’s why the motto for Jeff’s firm is, “Providing small town service with big city results.” Many of his clients are referrals from other attorneys and previous clients.
Jeff works on a contingency fee basis. This means his fee is dependent upon his ability to achieve a successful recovery for his clients. His fee is paid from the recovery, at the end of the case. Jeff advances the cost of the case and related expenses. Those are paid at the end of the case, as well. If Jeff is unsuccessful in you case, you won’t have to pay the attorney fee or the case expenses.
As he reviewed his cases for 2024, he realized he won every social security disability case he took on for clients. This should not be seen as a guarantee of results. Each case has its own facts and circumstances.
When Jeff reviewed the cases that he resolved in 2024, he noticed that in 75% the cases, he recovered all of the money that was available from the at-fault drivers’ insurance policies. Jeff is very proud of this statistic. It shows he’s not simply looking for a quick settlement. He works hard to maximize the results he achieves for his clients.

What Do Other Clients Think About Jeff?
We always encourage listeners to read the Google Reviews Jeff Roberts has received from many of his clients. A 5-Star rating and the comments are earned recognition and demonstrate Jeff’s commitment to his clients. As a solo attorney, he has more Google Reviews than some firms with multiple attorneys. Jeff shares the credit with his staff at the Roberts Law Office. Successfully representing injured clients is a team effort. It’s why Jeff likes to say his firm offers small town service with big city results.
